A couple million dollars is NOT wealthy. That’s JUST rich. Unless you have HUNDREDS of millions of dollars… Maybe even not until you reach your first billion… That’s when you reach the point of wealthy. Because thats an amount of money that you would have to go SEVERELY out of your way to spend. A few million bucks would NOT be hard to blow through in… Say… 5 – 10 years. Especialy if you don’t work, and spend 10K for a limo ride regularly… Be realistic.

I understand she has a problem…but I had a really hard time this episode feeling bad for her.

Obviously Laney has found SOME kind of forgiveness to have kept her mother in her life some how.
They never updated or said what the step-father is doing at all. She is very close with the sister and they never said what became of him.
It was awful that he would bring cupcakes for just him and the wife and punish Laney.

This is the first episode of Intervention I’ve ever watched … and after seeing this, I don’t understand.
What a gimmick! The concept is entirely exploitative of the subject; hey, let’s follow some helpless, out-of-control victim through their struggle, and spend two minutes of the entire show on their journey to recovery? Not even that! This woman’s troubles go beyond alcoholism, and they show nothing reassuring about her betterment whatsoever.

They have some episodes were they follow the addicts through treatment, or at least part of it. And you know treatment would be a lot longer then the week or so leading up to the intervention, so it would be harder to make a show out of it.

I can understand the whole cat thing. Her cat was the only creature that sat by her while she cried, listened to her while was upset. And not only that, kitty listened without judgement. I think it’s a reasonable thing to ask for. If I had to go to some sort of rehabilitation facility, I would want my dog with me. Give me something to do besides worry about myself.
